My 21st birthday just turned 21 this past week. In case you were wondering if being double the drinking age means you can consume double the alcohol…the answer is no. You can, however, give yourself double the hangover…and have it take twice as long to go away…but that’s about it. Trust me, I ran a thorough and comprehensive experiment on this very theory the entire week and the results, although quite hazy, are in…and they are indisputable. I also checked with friends of mine in law enforcement to see if you get a bump in the legal blood/alcohol limit once you’ve doubled the legal drinking age…again, the answer is no (I took them all at their word and didn’t feel it necessary to run an experiment on that one though). So, when you turn 16, you get to drive (17 for you Jersey folks), when you turn 18, you get to vote and become a legal adult (our Hebrew brothers and sisters get to become “adults” at 13!!), when you turn 21, you get to drink (legally), and when you turn 25, you get to rent a car – what do you get when you turn 42? Old…you get old. Enjoy your 20’s and 30’s F**kers!!
