So, I’m raking leaves today and I’m thinkin’ to myself (I get a lot of thinking done while doing yard work…and while pretending to listen to Dave when he talks to me)…ya know, maybe there is something to this whole God/Jesus thing. Was it the crisp fall air, the brilliant colors of the fallen leaves, or the feeling of being connected to nature and all it’s wonderment? No…it was because, even four days after his most recent start…I still cannot figure out how Tim Tebow is winning football games!! The fact that he’s so tight with Jesus is the only explanation I can come up with. What must the all the Christians on the Jets, or the other teams he’s beaten, be thinking? Are they pissed that God is playing favorites? Don’t get me wrong, I actually really like Tebow.
I share none of his beliefs but, unlike most of the God-Squad, he seems sincere and earnest and he actually lives what he believes – I respect that. Anyway, I also got to thinking about Thanksgiving. Where religion seems to separate us rather than bring us together, Thanksgiving is a Holiday that carries none of that baggage – it’s an American Holiday…not a religious one…and that pleases me :o) So, make sure you all take some time to appreciate all the things and, more importantly, all the people in your life that you’re thankful for. I’m thankful for my Wife, my dog, my cats, my parents, all my friends and family, my home, Paul, Scott, Ducky, John, Ryan, Mick, Justin D, Brian, and even Dave (although I’ll deny it later). Happy Thanksgiving!!!
